About the Pleasanton Run for Education
In 2012, the Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE) held the first “Pleasanton Run for Education,” and in just a few short years, the event has become Pleasanton’s premier family-focused fitness fundraiser.
To date, the event has raised over $1,000,000 for Pleasanton schools. Last spring, we saw over 2500 people join us for a fun morning, raising over $100,000 that directly impacted our students for this school year (2023-2024).
The 12th annual Pleasanton Run for Education will take place Sunday, April 28, 2024. All events begin and end at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
All distances are both runner and walker friendly, and participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. The Kids’ Challenge course is 1/4 mile and for children ages 3 to 10 years. The day will wrap up with a carnival-style atmosphere with vendor booths, an awards ceremony, DJ, and refreshments.
About Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation
PPIE is a non-profit, 501(c)3 foundation that supports all schools in the Pleasanton Unified School District. Since 1987, PPIE has raised over $5 million dollars for our schools through corporate partner donations, special events, and community-based fundraising efforts. Funds raised by PPIE support and re-establish critical district-wide programs for students threatened in recent years by state budget cuts, and to fund projects enhancing educational excellence for all students.
In recent years, PPIE has donated generously to our district’s schools, allowing the district the ability to hire wellness directors, reading and math intervention specialists for all levels, support counselors, IT support, INSPIRE grants for teacher- and student-led STEAM projects, and bus transportation for elementary Outdoor Education.
